Fresh off the news that Ten Thousand, a men’s athletic apparel online retailer, closed a $21.5M Series A round, we look at Consumer Edge Transact US data on their recent performance vs. its peers in recent months. Over the past year and a half, Ten Thousand has grown significantly faster than the Footwear/Athletic Apparel subindustry and relatively in-line with a competitor, Rhone, while outpacing Outdoor Voices. Even though its growth has been more volatile (common with smaller companies), it has consistently been growing 10-40% faster than the overall subindustry. At the beginning of the year Ten Thousand’s growth slowed significantly but it has recovered in recent months.

Ten Thousand announced a three-year partnership with Life Time Athletic Country Clubs, making Ten Thousand the exclusive men’s athletic apparel brand for the club’s personal training team, as well as its Studio, FTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit classes. Life Time Fitness is consistently one of the top five most cross shopped gyms (and the most cross shopped gym in the most recent half year) with Ten Thousand, signaling strong synergies that should foreshadow success with the partnership with expanding growth potential.
